If you suspect that you have symptoms of COVID-19 during your time in Dominican Republic please contact your hotel’s medical staff, who will determine the measures of isolation, if necessary.

All hotels, regardless of size, have a medical station on the property that has a certified professional (i.e. certified nurse) or an established relationship with professionals in the health sector, who respond to calls in emergencies. For all hotels, it is mandatory to have at least one isolation room for any employee or guest who shows a high temperature or another symptom of COVID-19. The quick test on the premises should not be charged to the guest.

The hotel’s health care unit (UMAP Medical Units for Permanent Care) must be in permanent contact with the local health authority. In addition, the hotel can coordinate telemedicine consultations through the Medical Assistance Plan.The
local health authorities will determine if and when the guest(s) should be transported to the nearest corresponding hospital.

If a guest presents symptoms, the hotel should implement the protocol established by the Ministry of Public Health to carry out all necessary testing and isolate the guest to the hotel’s designated quarantine units.

  • Stay in your home or hotel room and call the doctor before going for a medical visit.
  • Avoid contact with other people and animals.
  • Wear a mask.
  • Cover your mouth or nose with a disposable tissue when you cough or sneeze.
  • Wash your hands regularly and for at least 20 seconds.
  • Avoid sharing personal items with others.
  • Clean all high-contact surfaces every day.
  • Monitor your symptoms.
